Update

It has been awhile since I updated the blog. We have been working hard to update the web site and make improvements. We have the new design is up and are continuing our efforts to make the site more useful.

We have a new news section up and will be making more further improvements in how our online reporting look and increasing the information provided. Tiffany Pelt, our new news director is doing a good job with the web content.

We are also using a new web analytic system that will tell us more about what our readers want form the website.

Keep watching the site for future improvements.

The OJ&B interview on Studio B

Orange Juice & Biscuits, KTSW's own morning talk show, was recently interviewed on Studio B. Studio B is a student run YouTube show put together by Texas State University-San Marcos students . You can find them on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/user/txstatemgtv.

Studio b has posted the interview to YouTube, but you do not have to go searching for it. It can now be found on the Orange Juice& Biscuits web page, http://ktsw.txstate.edu/orangejuiceandbiscuits.php.

Jonny V. has been one of our best promoters and both he and Mandy D. put on a great show every Monday and Wednesday 8am-9am. If you are up that early, go listen.

KTSW benefits for the Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center

Hi folks,

We are promoting two events coming up the first week of December. Execs, tell your staffs and staffs tell your friends.

St. KTSW "Adopt a Family" Fundraiser events:

On Dec. 3 2008 Lunch box at the LBJ Student Center amphitheater from 11 am to 1 pm. The band "Muchos Backflips" will play and Santa will be available for pictures for the small price of $1.

From 7 pm Dec 4 to 7 pm Dec 5, 2008 Mairin and Nick will be on the air for a full day for our DJ-A-THON raising money for the Women's Center. Listeners will be able to adopt a family for $89.90 or we will adopt a family for each $89.90 we raise at the event. Nick & Mairin will be there for the whole event but there will also be guest's hosts dropping in from time to time.

The Hays-Caldwell Women's Center is devoted to helping women and children who are the victims of family violence in Hays and Caldwell counties. You can find more information at their website, http://www.hcwc.org/.

Austin 360

This in from Sarah White, Programming Director of KTSW. I second her in this, let's everyone get in on this one and get our station listed with Austin 360.

"So, this week's Austin 360 poll is none other than best radio station. Since we did such a great job getting OJ & B to the top, I'm sure it will be no trouble to get KTSW up there too.
So email: austin360contests@statesman.com with the subject: Your A-List write-in vote: Radio station and of course in the email proudly proclaim that KTSW is the best. Do it. And make your staff do it too."

Web Content

The entire executive staff, and especially the Webmaster, is very interested in improving and growing the amount content on our web site.

Some of the ideas we have had include filming specialty shows for YouTube and original YouTube video content. The sports dept. has launched its own blog and will be delivering sports stories after and even during Bobcat sports events.

The important idea is to get the website more interesting and useful to the University and the San Marcos community.

So KTSW staffers let’s hear your ideas. And listeners too, if you have an idea drop us a line at ktswwebmaster@txstate.edu and let us know what you want to see on our web site.Ric.
